You are brave to go out in the cold!!! They cancelled ski lessons Friday afternoon because of the wind, at Snowbird they only had one lift open. Love to see our kids getting old enough to go skiing etc.
Season’s Greetings! 2008 has turned out to be quite a roller coaster ride with LOTS of twists and turns. We are truly blessed to have wonderful friends and family who enrich and bless our lives. We feel comfort in the knowledge that our prayers are heard and answered. At this time of year we especially want to express gratitude for our Savior, Jesus Christ, and remember His Birth, as well as express our love to you. We would like to share our “Top 10” 2008 Events in the Johnstone Home. 10. We enjoyed 2 wonderful trips to Lake Powell. The first trip in June, without the kids (Peaceful), and the second trip in August with the kids( Sleep Deprived). Both were wonderful and so fun! 9. We all survived McKayla’s (14)1st year as a teenager with flying colors. She hasn’t demonstrated too many of the normal teenage characteristics, so far….Fingers crossed! She is a joy! 8. Cambria (9) continues to dance, cheer and play the piano. She is getting very good at all of these and is constantly fluttering around the house and tinkering on the piano. What Talent! 7. Cole (5) started kindergarten and loves school. He is becoming a great reader and besides being super wiggly, he is doing very well. He also learned some choice “bathroom” boy humor! YUCK! 6. Rachel started a part-time job in August, T and Th. mornings, while the kids are at school. We are all adjusting to the change. She continues to do flowers for weddings & events with Anjuli. 5. Nick is no longer with Focus LLC, but is helping to start a new business with our good friend, Dr. Zak Zarbock, who developed ZarBee’s (an all natural children’s cough syrup). He is learning a lot about starting a business from the ground up and is excited to be a part of this. (Visit www.zarbees.com for information). 4. McKayla got braces in July and is doing great, despite the occasional sore achy mouth. She is still competing in soccer and had an amazing year as “Keeper”. She was able to attend a BYU Soccer camp this summer and is even more in love with BYU! 3. Cambria was awarded the swimmer of the year for her age group in swim team this summer. She is competing in all 4 strokes, which she loves to swim – Great Job Cam! 2. Cole learned to swim without his life vest (YEAH!). He also played rec. T-Ball and Soccer. He loves to learn new sports and is anxious to be able to play flag football next fall when he’s 6. 1. Nick and Rachel are heading to Hawaii, 2 days after Christmas, to enjoy some much needed R&R with Rachel’s family in celebration of her parent’s 40th anniversary. ALOHA! We hope this holiday season finds you all merry and bright and we wish you a wonderful 2009. If you are ever in Salt Lake please stop and visit - our home is always open. Check out our family blog at johnstonebliss.blogspot.com to keep up with the Johnstone’s.
I love being a stay-at-home mom to my 3 beautfil kids and wife to Nick (14 years baby)! I love spending time with friends and family, going on vacation, relaxing by the pool, reading a good book, chocolate carmel apples, chicken enchiladas, working up a good sweat at the gym, cooking a yummy meal for the family. Now a little about the rest of the family....McKayla (12) is very responsible, smart, hard working, and a real beauty. She's a great helper and example to everyone! She loves to read, play soccer, and hang out with friends. Cambria (8) is our sweetheart, a friend to all, never in a bad mood, she loves life. She enjoys reading, listening to HSM 24/7, and always wants to play with friends. Cole (4), is the comic relief in our the home and makes us laugh with his funny comments. He's full of energy, loves his mom, but loves to watch sports with dad - go Cougars! He loves transformers, TMNT, and pirates. Last but not least, my hubby Nick. He's a project manager for Back to Basics, an innovative small Appliance Co. He's a great husband and father. He loves sports, especially BYU Football. He enjoys traveling, Sunday naps, a home cooked meal, and his little family.
