A Must See

Australia is a MUST see! I loved everything about it. The filming was beautiful, the story was so tender. It had all the elements that make a great movie. There was romance, suspense, humor, action,...everything. I even learned about a part of history that I really didn't know much about. Seriously, this may even be my favorite movie of the year, yes even more than twilight, gasp! Nicole Kidman was fabulous and well Hugh Jackman "2008 sexiest man of the year" with good reason. Wow!! (all I can say is watering hole scene...drool...see it and you'll know what I mean!) The little boy, Nala, was amazing and so darling! Seriously go see this movie - I hope you like it as much as I did.
Good day' Mates!

Annual Christmas Picture

We took our annual Christmas card picture today - way too many cheesy smiles, funny head slants and angles, and at least an hour of pure drama....but whew...we finally made it!
Let the holidays begin!

I love Fall!

The past 2 weeks of fall have been fabulous. The weathers has been the perfect temperature, we are surrounded by beautiful fall foliage, and of course long lists of all the fun things to do this time of year.
Here are a few of the things we've done.
CORNBELLY'S - If you get a chance to go it's so much fun!

Yesterday, I took the kids to see HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3 - it was pretty good. Definetly over the top, but so entertaining(oh, and if I were a teenage girl, Whoo Hoo that Zac Efron is cute!)

And of course, Halloween Parties. Thanks to the Christensen's and the Ence's for throwing such fun parties! I was Hermione from Harry Potter! Thanks Char for being my date...a.k.a."life partner" at the Christensen's Party.

Fall Weddings - I've had two weddings this month and they both wanted fall colors -which are my favorite. Fall weddings are so rich and vibrant. Yesterday I delivered a wedding to Log Haven - the colors were amazing in the canyon. This is a picture of one of the centerpieces.

Introducing Zarbee's

I think most of you know about the new business venture Nick is involved in--- Zarbee's. Our good friend Zak Zarbock, a pediatrician, developed an all-natural, honey based cough syrup that is safe for children 12 months and older. Last year childrens cough syrups were pulled off the shelves because they are unsafe for children under the age of 12. Zak knew that parents needed something safe to give their children to soothe their coughs, so he developed Zarbee's.
In July, Nick started working with Zak to build this business. After many months of hard work and planning it looks like Zarbee's will be available in Harmons stores, and hopefully many more stores, starting the first of November. Yesterday on channel 4News Zak was featured on the 5, 6 and 10 o'clock news and introduced Zarbee's.
We are so excited and feel so blessed that we are involved with this great product (thanks Zak). For more information check out the the website www.Zarbees.com, and please feel free to share this great product with your friends, neighbors, families, and everyone you know. It's a safe alternative for children and adults, it's all natural, and it tastes great!

What my sock say about me!

So my sister-in-law Jamie found this website where you can take quizzes and things (like I have time to do this, but I did) anyway here's one of the quizzes I took.
What Your Socks Say About You:

You Are:

- Quite bouncy
- Always caring
- Known as cute
- Totally sweet

Now I wouldn't say I am bouncy - my hips would hurt to much. I do try to be caring -however always is a strong word. Cute -well I'm way to old to be cute! Lastly, totally sweet - I'm sure my husband and kids would beg to differ. Anyhow, if you have a few minutes go to this website and take a few of the silly, fun quizzes http://blogthings.com! Have Fun!

School, Soccer and Salt City

School, Soccer, and Salt City...that pretty much sums up what I have been doing the last 6 weeks. The kids are all in school now, McKayla's soccer season is in full swing, and I started a part-time job at Salt City Candle Company. So to say that my life is a little crazy right now is an understatement! But, I think we are starting to get the hang of things, so things are finally calming down a bit.
School: McKayla is in 8th grade and loving it. Cambria is in 4th grade and loves her class and her teacher Mrs. Broderick. Cole is in kindergarten and is learning the do's and the dont's of the class. I'm proud to say the last 2 weeks have been all green crayons! Yeah! Cam and Cole went off track on Friday so it will be nice to have a little more time with them.
Soccer: 2 practices a week, 2-3 games a week, and traveling all over Northern Utah. It's so much fun, but the away games are challenging. Monday we head to Brigham City, Saturday we were in Heber, and last Saturday Mapleton (Too bad I don't get frequent driver miles.)
Salt City Candle: I started working at Salt City Candle Company. I love it, but it's taken some time getting use to working again. I work in the office Tuesday and Thursday mornings 9-1:30, and then from home the other days, as needed. Thanks to all who have helped me with Cole while I am at work. I REALLY appreciate it!

Kindergarten

My baby started school today - I will say I was quite weepy and a little torn if I should leave him. I'm sure some moms are doing cartwheels right now, and maybe that will come with my new freedom, but not today. I will miss my sweet little buddy and will have a hard time knowing what to do with myself. I have learned I'm not one who likes to be alone - so I'm off to the gym - where I can run my lonliness away. Thanks goodness it's only Kindergarten and only 3 hours a day. Whew -- I will survive! Is it 11:18 yet?

John Mayer Concert

Last night Nick and I went to the John Mayer concert! Colbie Caillat opened for him. It was such a great concert. They both sounded fabulous!!! It was such a great night, the weather was perfect and the music well.....fabulous. I loved it!
John Mayer is an amazing musician - when he plays the guitar with his deep voice - chills! The only bummer was that he said he was going to play "Your Body is a Wonderland"... and then he sang "Daughters" instead - so maybe he forgot or had too much to drink??? anyway, I love both songs, but "Your body is a Wonderland" was my very first John Mayer song that I fell in love with years ago and to me it's classic John Mayer so....bummer, but the concert was awesome! Colbie Caillat was sooo good and she's darling.

My little Indy..

Cole is obsessed with Indiana Jones (and he hasn't even seen the new movie). Anyhow, for his 5th birthday he got the XBox 360 Lego Indiana Jones game. He has beat almost all the levels, has bought every character possible, and I'm still amazed that he knows how to play the game. I've tried and it's so confusing - I can't figure it out and always manage to die within the first 30 seconds.
Anyway, he loves Indiana Jones and has created his own Indy outfit... this is all from thing he found around the house. Who ever says boys aren't creative hasn't met Cole, oops I mean Indy. Oh, he's so dang cute! (notice his added features...a whip (belt), and a horse, oh and usually he has his cowboy boots on but we can't find them -darn it!) Pretty stinkin cute!

M.I.A.

My sister in laws, Marissa, Anjuli, me and Chantelle

Holy Cow - it is already July 17th - where has the time gone?...well let me tell you a few possibilities. June 18th - June 28th - my sister in law from California and her kids were here. We had a great time- we did lots of fun things - 7 Peaks (rip-off), bowling, mini golf, a few movies, lots of swimming, and everynight dinners and games with the family. We had so much fun.

I had a few days of recovery and then it was 4th of July - again lots of swimming, eating and fireworks. Then I had to gear up for Youth Conference. Lots to do and plan. I went to Lava Hot Springs with 30 youth. It was great, however I totally tweeked my back - chasing a 14 year old boy while playing capture the flag - how stupid.....I forgot to tell my body that I'm not 14 anymore...Help! So that about sums up the last month.

This past week has been calmer and I'm trying to recover. I slipped a disk in my back so it looks like I will be going a little slower the next few weeks so I can recover and get to girls camp the end of July.

To my Favorite boy - Happy 5th Birthday!

The gang - what a cute group of kids! It was so fun!
Cole wanted to celebrate his birthday at grandma's swimming pool. It was so fun and the kids had a blast going down the slide, having a biggest splash contest, and just good ole' swimming. Thanks to everyone for making Cole's 5th birthday so special!

Preschool Graduation!

Yes folks, thats right he is going to Kindergarten in a few months!
So Cole had his preschool graduation last week. He memorized his part, we had the teachers gift wrapped and ready to go, I had my camera, but I failed to tell him to keep his fingers out of his nose. Now he is not a regular nose picker so I didn't think I needed to remind him of that. Boy was I wrong! To his defense, he said he wasn't picking his nose, he just wanted to see how far he could pull his nose holes- a logical explanation for a 4 year old! Oh, how I love this boy - he makes me laugh in so many ways. He is so tender and sweet (95% of the time), he is smart, and believe it or not he really is ready for kindergarten.
I will miss him!

Allen, Evangeline, and Mischa

It's Mothers Day morning and the kids and I have been having a blast morphing ourselves. It's been really fun to watch ourselves transform. We've also had some good laughs as we see what we morph into. This website takes your face shape, the way your head is angled, other facial features, and then morphs you into the "celebrity" your scan resembles the most. It's not real accurate - I had my hair pulled back in a ponytail and sunglasses on and the scan morphed me with a male race car driver, I was also morphed to Holly Hunter. Nick was morphed to Renee Zellwegger and Adrian Brody - so funny! Cole has been morphed to Marilyn Monroe (seriously - Marilyn Monroe's sexy white dress and all), Haley Joel Osment, Allen Iverson (our favorite). And all three kids have been morphed to cute little Asian celebrities (pretty funny too). It's very random but really fun - so try it and get ready for a good laugh! Have Fun!

What a weekend!

So this weekend we had 3 soccer games - McKayla was awesome and received player of the game, again! Way to go babe, we're so proud of how hard you work!
Cambria competed in a cheer competition on Saturday (in between 2 soccer games)! Whew!! Cambria's cheer team took 1st in their division, she did great! Go Stars!
and Cole learned to ride his 2 wheel bike (without the training wheels). I was so impressed because he was riding his bike two minutes after we took the training wheels off. Way to go bud - you're doing great!
Honestly, there's nothing better than watching your kids work hard, learn new things, and accomplish their goals! I am so proud of them! Way to go!

the man cold!

Don't forget to pause my music while you watch this!

The Man Cold Syndrome

I have many wonderful men in my life...husband, son, father, 5 brothers, etc... so I can honestly say I've been around men my whole life and this is the absolute truth...men are so dramatic when they are sick. We girls suck it up and still manage to function while we are sick, however, the male species are not quite as capable, and are so demanding when they are sick. Now, you may think I am writing about my dear husband, and I am to a degree, he is not sick right now (thank heavens) and I assure you when he is it's pretty dramatic! Today, however I am talking about my darling 4 year old Cole. He is fulfilling his roll as a man... he has another ear infection and I know it hurts terribly. I am keeping the motrin going, but he is using it to his advantage. He can't clean up his room- his ear hurts, I have to rub his tummy all night, he wants a hot compress for his ear and the second it cools down I have to warm it again - or the moaning starts, he wants me to carry him everywhere, etc....however, when he is playing Lego Star Wars you would never know he has an ear infection. Funny! He is totally working it and has perfected "The Man Cold" syndrome at age 4...it must be something males are born with!

HAPPY EASTER!

Cole looking everywhere for easter eggs. Too Cute! The Easter Bunny left the kids lots of fun things!
We always head to Wyoming for Easter! It's so fun to spend time with cousins, ride the horses, have an Easter scavenger hunt, and or course see Grandpa and Grandma. The kids have so much fun and love to explore the great outdoors.
